Enough already with the Transit Mall Stuff.
TriMet is holding several open houses on its Transit Improvement Plan (TIP), essentially its capital investment plan.
The open houses are:
Wednesday, March 15th, 11-2 and 4-7 in the Portland Bldg (2nd floor)
Tuesday, March 21st, 4-7pm at the Portland Adventist Academy (1500 SE 96th Avenue, Portland)
Wednesday, March 22nd, 4-7pm at the Beaverton Community Center (12350 SW Fifth Street, Beaverton)

I think the focus of these Open Houses is on the bus service options during Mall construction.
I was wondering if Mall construction couldn’t all be staged… North Mall, Central Mall, then South Mall…with buses coming back sooner once construction on a given segment is done. I’ll mention it today. Stacey & Widbeck, the contractor, did a great job on both Interstate MAX and Streetcar in minimizing impacts via staged contruction. When I saw their plan for Interstate MAX, I knew it was a winner, and they delivered.
