I was riding on a sidewalk going up a hill against traffic, when another bike approached me on the sidewalk going down the hill. I veered to my right, the other bicyclist veered to his left. We stopped in front of each other. He rebuked me for being on the wrong side of the road and told me to get out of the way.
I realize that riding on the sidewalk is not a usual path for either bike, but the street did not seem safe.
Is there a rule of the sidewalk for a situation such as this?
