The Hand That Feeds Us

Portland Transport's transit tools, including the Transit Appliance, depend on the web services provided by TriMet (and NextBus). And those web services at core get their information from TriMet's dispatch and vehicle tracking systems. Next week's PSU Transportation Seminar will look under the hood at how those systems work and how they're being updated for the future. I'll be there listening attentively!

Speaker: Dave Crout and Steve Callas, TriMet

Topic: TriMet CAD / AVL System Data

Abstract: http://www.cts.pdx.edu/abstracts/callas&crout_abstract.php

When: Friday, November 2, 2012, 12-1 p.m.

Where: PSU Urban Center Building, SW 6th and Mill, Room 204

Jason McHuff Says:

If anyone doesn't want to wait to see a demo of the new system, one was given at the TriMet October 2012 Board of Directors briefing. The presentation starts at about 14 minutes into that video.
