  1. Global Warming Transportation Solutions Via Social Marketing

JK: Haven’t these people realized that the globe has been cooling for years, the warmest year in the USHCN is still 1998 (tied with 1934), current solar activity is typical of the start of global cooling and the PDO has shifted to its cool phase which typically lasts 30 years.

It is so sad to see government policy formulated on pseudo-science, myth and scare stories. But that’s so typically Oregon and Portland.

    thanks
    JK

  2. The topic here is not whether global warming exists… the topic comes from the viewpoint that it does, and how to address it using online social-networking systems. You’ve stated your opinion, JK, but I won’t let this thread degenerate into yet another “debate” over whether the overwhelming scientific consensus is some kind of conspiracy.

Similarly, if this were an announcement of a lecture about recruiting evolutionary biologists using Facebook, it would be inappropriate to have yet another argument about “Intelligent Design”.

    1) Define the globe has been “cooling” for years. The earth is 4.5 billion years old, you’re going to have to be more specific. Yes, temperatures have changed and climate has changed naturally, but let us put this concept into human scale, which cannot possibly fathom a billion years let alone 4 billion years.

USHCN is temperatures for the United States. This is data from the US and is not a global indicator. Just because some part of the world is warming or cooling does not mean that it’s a global indication (although certain areas are more susceptible or are ecologically important such as polar ice caps). Just as weather is not climate.

You can clearly see the GLOBAL surface air temperatures here:

Here are the temperatures for the US (not global, people):

*Note the 1998 and 1934 temperature deviation of 1.24 degree Celsius to which JK is referring to and misleading people.*

  4. Since I let JK’s original comment stand, I’ll let WS’s rebuttal stand. However, fair warning: No matter how detailed or thoughtful or from whatever point of view or from whom, NO MORE OFF-TOPIC COMMENTS about the validity or non-validity of global warming will be allowed in this thread.

  5. Mr Karlock-

Will you Please let me have that interview!

Then every time the topic of global warming comes up you can copy and paste your you tube post right to whatever blog you wish.

No need to have to write this out, OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Save time, save energy, SAVE THE PLANET!
