  1. Well, this is certainly encouraging in many ways. Thanks for pointing it out, Chris.
    Does anyone know why these types of “enforcement actions” or “stings” are advertised and why it is chosen to lump a bunch of cops together in one area? It seems like Portland Police are trying to prove that they actually enforce traffic laws. I would think that the best way to make an impact on traffic safety and livability would be to enforce laws at multiple locations around the city. I’m sure this happens to some extent, but I see very few cars pulled over outside of these “enforcement actions.” I don’t like it but when I hear of these “stings”, I think that this must be the day set aside for traffic enforcement, as if it is not an everyday practice. What’s the justification given for these events as an alternative to regular enforcement?
