Our Latest Transit Appliance...
Now to be found in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza hotel on NE Broadway.
This is the first time we've deployed in a hotel and also the first time we've used the iPad (and a commercially available kiosk stand for it) as the display platform!
This particular unit is displaying four MAX lines plus the Streetcar Loop, all within walking distance of the hotel.

Cool! I had some family members stay at the Residence Inn at Riverplace who loved that they knew when the streetcar was coming. The big board at the Courtyard near Burnside didn't work so well recently, but everyone has at least seemed impressed by the effort local hotels make to help people avoid a rental car in Portland.

Nice - now if you could produce a kiosk that would print a ticket valid on tri-met that would be even better.
Extra points for a kiosk that allows you to plan a trip, pay for it and print a valid ticket.
