Jason Barbour Says:

This is great news. The fiscal conservatives and other "follow-the-money" types have had no problems with funding two wars and two bailouts (Wall Street and Detroit) while supporting nothing that benefits the common person trying to get to their "free market" job.

I attended a Senator Merkley Town Hall on Saturday to indicate I think he should support the bill. So please call the offices for Merkley, Wyden, Cantwell, and Murray, and tell them they should support this legislation.

Ron Swaren Says:

I think that it is a bit of a broad brush, Jason, because scientific work that benefits transportation usually continues through changing administrations. The DOE operates a number of research labs, and previously I have posted information about programs and projects in recent years (plural) that could have great long-range benefits and be fiscally conservative at the same time.

And haven't there been similar bailouts to agencies in past years?
