I wonder if my folks remember that parking garage. At the time, we lived in Hillsboro and trips to Portland were exotic. I sure don't remember this garage, but maybe my dad does.

I remember an automated garage from back in the 70's... it was near what is now the Galleria in the building which once housed a 2-story McDonald's and later, Rich's cigars. It's the same one from Jason's link, but it was relocated from that photo to the Alder location.

I know I heard about a highrise project along Burnside near I-405 that was going to have an automated parking system also.
