There's an interesting trend developing, celebrations intended to promote alternate transportation in various forms. Here are three events that recently got added to our calendar:

What other city would party for these things?

And don't forget, the PDOT/PDC Vancouver-Williams Transportation Safety Project is holding a celebration at Dawson park tonight to mark the completion of the first phase of work in the project!

Our Share the Road event is happening this evening, during the Summer Concerts in the Park series. Look out for us in the NW corner of Dawson Park.

We'll have enough ice-cream for 400 folks stopping by to say thanks for sharing the road.

Legacy Emanuel's Trauma Nurses Talk Tough will be joining us also with their five dollar bike helmet booth. Helmets will be available for both children and adults, and all helmets will be individually fitted by trained helmet staff and volunteers.

We're also looking to get feedback from users of the corridor on speed. How does the current speed limit on Vancouver & Williams feel to you as a bicyclist, walker, or driver? We'll have copies of our speed survey available for you to fill in, as well as the BTA's N/NE Bike Boulevard survey. You can also take our speed survey online by going to -

www.pdc.us/vancouver-williams

- and clicking on the survey link near the top.

Thanks for reading, & see some of you there on your commutes home!

wow, how did i miss this sullivan's gulch thing? i lived on the corner of multnomah and 21st for 5 years and would ILLICITLY take that route on my bike and on foot for years. (of course at the time there was no footbridge across the steel bridge so now it would be even better)

that is seriously an amazing pedestrian corridor. it just about halves the time it takes to hit the river for a bike or a hoofer.

this is great news.
