Business Press Focuses on Clean Energy
The cover article in this month's Oregon Business magazine is a feature on clean power. Indeed, there are several articles in the issue about alternative energy sources.
More interestingly, on the editorial page, editor Robin Doussard roots for $6/gallon gasoline, on the theory that energy prices need to hurt a lot more to really cause the needed changes in behavior.
In the business press! Does this presage an awakening by businesses?

Ron Swaren Says:
$6 per gallon fuel? Someone has said that "you can catch more ants with honey than with vinegar."
I have a different proposal:
Let's assume that the conservative makeup of the US government continues for several more years and they don't care if we are addicted to oil and it's costing too much. Now, could not those Americans in favor of alternative fuels (like Democrats?) still move ahead with a challenge to industry to work on those alternatives? After all corporations have been supporting a number of environmental causes for years. To support an alternative energy strategy is not too far fetched. The right visionaries could lead it--and perhaps a lot of industry would benefit in the process.
Sure would beat kvetchin' because you are not in power....
